A down home country boy who is a lover of life, people, and the great game of poker. In his youth, Kenna acquired a scholarship to the Michigan School of the Arts. It was in this field he focused his efforts for years to come, performing in theatrical productions and even taking a few small roles in various films and television soap operas.
In 1996, Kenna took to the felt as a poker dealer and in six months moved up to Tournament Director at Hollywood Park Casino in Los Angeles. While he could have no doubt had a successful career in casino management, Kenna decided he'd be better suited as a player and decided to start playing professionally in 1999.
Initially a cash game player, Kenna turned his focus to tournaments in 2002 and won his first major event in 2003. He made 16 final tables that year winning 8 of them and has not looked back since. Having won over 20 events and 3 million dollars, Kenna is well on his way to realizing his dream of being recognized as one of the top ten players in the world.
Kenna's other professional interests are in writing, entertaining and advancing people's lives through the work he is developing at Kenna James Enterprises, which is due to launch this fall. |
